$500 bounty placed on Herring, who has won three straight Late Model Stock Car races at SoBo

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. It's bounty time at South Boston Speedway.

For the past three races, Drew Herring has proved to be nearly unbeatable. The teen driver has reeled off three straight wins and has claimed victories in five of the past six Late Model Stock Car Division races at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval.

Therefore, when the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division drivers hit the track Saturday night for the featured attraction of the Embarq 150 presented by Bob FM, a $500 bounty will be placed on Herring. Any driver that can beat Herring to the checkered flag will collect a $500 bonus in addition to the regular winner's share of the purse.

The EmBarq 150 presented by Bob FM NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing program will get cranked up at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

Herring's recent dominance in the Late Model Stock Car Division ranks has enabled him to overcome a slow start to the season and close within 12 points of a first-place tie for the division point lead between Owen Miller and Jonathan Cash.

Also featured for racing action Saturday night will be the Strutmasters.com Limited Sportsman Division drivers in twin 50-lap races. In addition, the Budweiser Pure Stock Division competitors and the touring Legendary Flathead drivers will hit the asphalt for action as well.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 5:15 p.m.

Adult admission for the race will be $8 up to 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $5 and children under the age of 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult
